Peter Sagan finally won a stage of this year’s TdF, and skips clear with a 100 point lead in the Green Jersey.
The victory salute was subdued, Sagan trying to act more mature after a bit of bad press earlier this year at the Tour of Flanders:
Ass-grabbing a podium girl is one of those unforgivable acts. Unless you’re Queenslander Loren Rowney and then it’s parody.
And one of the only ways to get one of female cycling’s biggest races (Redlands Bicycle Classic) into the news.
And then there is the issue of THAT tasteful Sagan T-shirt photo.
This means than all the favorite sprinters Cavendish, Greipel, Kittel, Sagan have each won a single stage. And Matt Goss too if you count the Team Time Trial win. Which incidentally, was the faster average speed for a TdF stage ever:
Whew, so the big GC show-down starts tonight as the Tour swings into the Pyrenees. Contador (9 sec), Valverde (20 sec), Cadel (26 sec) and Andy (29 sec) all trail Froome. BIG night.
